  1. 1. Copper in Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical-Looping with Oxygen Uncoupling (CLOU)

    Author : Mehdi Arjmand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; chemical-looping combustion CLC ; chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling CLOU ; copper; CO2-capture; kinetic; oxygen carrier;

    Abstract : The chemical-looping combustion (CLC) and chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) processes are attractive solutions for efficient combustion with inherent separation of carbon dioxide. These processes use a metal oxide as an oxygen carrier to transfer oxygen from an air to a fuel reactor where the fuel, or gasification products of the fuel, reacts with the oxygen carrier. 2. 2. NH3-SCR chemistry for NOx abatement: Influence of zeolite support on N2O formation & phosphorus species addition

    Author : Joonsoo Han; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Copper; NH3 SCR chemistry; Zeolite topology; N2O; Phosphorus poisoning;

    Abstract : Different lattice arrangements of Si, Al, and O atoms result in a variety of pore dimensions and zeolite channel network systems, giving rise to different physicochemical environments inside the catalyst cage. The objective of the thesis work was to understand the influence of zeolite topology on NH3-assisted SCR chemistry over CHA, MFI, and BEA frameworks, on the formation of N2O and the addition of phosphorus species to attain fundamental insight into NOx emission control.     Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Risk assessment; toxicogenomics; zinc; copper; machine learning;

    Abstract : Risk assessment plays a crucial role in evaluating and managing the potential hazards and health effects associated with exposure to substances. In recent decades, the field of risk assessment has undergone significant expansion, embracing innovative approaches and methodologies. READ MORE

  4. 4. Nitrous Oxide Formation over Zeolite-based Catalysts during Ammonia-SCR: The Effect of Framework Structure, Acidity, and Copper Content

    Author : Ghodsieh Isapour Toutizad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Copper content; In situ IR spectroscopy; Heterogeneous catalysis; N2O; Si Al molar ratio; SCR; Zeolites;

    Abstract : The emission control of anthropogenic nitrous oxide (N2O), a by-product formed  through fossil- and renewable fuel combustion, agricultural activities, and industrial  chemical processes, has attracted large considerations due to its substantial contribution  in global warming and ozone layer depletion. Selective catalytic reduction with  ammonia (NH3-SCR) is the most prevailing technology for the abatement of nitrogen  oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gases from lean-burn processes, with the possible formation  of N2O. 5. 5. Enhanced Boiling Heat Transfer on a Dendritic and Micro-Porous Copper Structure

    Author : Richard Furberg; Björn Palm; Vishwas Wadekar; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; enhanced boiling; R134a; FC-72; flow boiling; heat transfer; high speed visualization; instability; micro-channels; micro-structured; nano- and micro-technology; nano- and micro-porous structured surfaces; plate heat exchanger; pool boiling; porous media; thermosyphon; two-phase heat transfer; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Abstract : A novel surface structure comprising dendritically ordered nano-particles of copper was developed during the duration of this thesis research project. A high current density electrodeposition process, where hydrogen bubbles functioned as a dynamic mask for the materials deposition, was used as a basic fabrication method. READ MORE
