6. Photoelectron Spectroscopy Studies of III-V Semiconductor Systems
Abstract : Photoelectron spectroscopy has been used as a main tool to study a number of III-V semiconductor surfaces. This thesis includes studies of a surface reaction, As/InP(110), thin heteroepitaxial layers, InAs on GaAs(111)A and GaAs on AlAs(100), and a diluted magnetic semiconductor, Ga1-xMnxAs. READ MORE

7. Free Molecular and Metal Clusters Studied by Synchrotron Radiation Based Electron Spectroscopy
Abstract : The main purpose of this Thesis is the experimental characterization of the electronic and geometric structures of objects called clusters. A cluster consists of a finite group of bound atoms or molecules. Due to its finite size, it may present completely different properties than those of the isolated atom and the bulk. READ MORE

8. Free Clusters Studied by Synchrotron-Based X-ray Spectroscopy: From Rare Gases to Metals
Abstract : The main topic of this Thesis is the x-ray spectroscopic studies of free nano-clusters with size more than 10^3 atoms. The photoelectron spectroscopy experiments on rare gas and metal clusters were performed at beamline I411 at MAX-lab National Swedish synchrotron radiation facility. Free rare-gas clusters are simplest objects in cluster research. READ MORE

9. Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Cuprates and Manganites
Abstract : Abstract In this thesis, the high temperature superconductors (HTSC) La2CuO4+x and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d and the colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) La1-xSrxMnO3 have been studied by photoelectron spectroscopy. Techniques such as angular resolved photoemission (ARPES), resonant photoemission spectroscopy (RESPES) and x-ray absorption spectroscopy have been applied, using synchrotron radiation. READ MORE

10. Geometrical Structure, Phase Diagrams, and Core-Level Binding Energiesof Metal Surfaces: Calculations, Simulations, and Experiments
Abstract : This thesis concerns clean and adsorbate covered metal surfaces and surface alloys. These systems have been studied using theoretical and experimental methods. In the first part of the thesis, the different techniques that have been utilized in this work are presented, and the included publications are summarized. READ MORE
