7. Aerosol Synthesis and Characterization of Heterogeneous Bimetallic Nanoparticles
Abstract : As the proverbial noose tightens around humanity’s resource spending, research is focused on utilizing materials to their fullest potential. Nanotechnology is the ultimate way to economize by splitting objects into smaller parts and dispersing the material properties over greater surface to volume ratios. READ MORE

8. Computer Simulations of Polymer Gels : Structure, Dynamics, and Deformation
Abstract : This thesis presents the results of computer simulation studies of the structure, dynamics, and deformation of cross-linked polymer gels. Obtaining a fundamental understanding of the interrelation between the detailed structure and the properties of polymer gels is a challenge and a key issue towards designing materials for specific purposes. 9. A Waterborne Colloidal Model System Consisting of Fluorinated Spheres Bearing Grafted PEG: Synthesis, Characterization and Properties
Abstract : Model systems have expanded our knowledge of numerous phenomena in Colloid Science, such as the appearance of glasses, order-disorder transitions involving crystals and attraction induced formation of gels. So far, the existing colloidal model systems have been limited mainly to nonaqueous media. READ MORE

10. Synthesis of nanostructured and hierarchical materials for bio-applications
Abstract : In recent years, nanostructured materials incorporated with inorganic particles and polymers have attracted attention for simultaneous multifunctional biomedical applications. This thesis summarized three works, which are preparation of mesoporous silica coated superparamagnetic iron oxide (Fe3O4@mSiO2) nanoparticles (NPs) as magnetic resonance imaging T2 contrast agents, polymer grafted Fe3O4@mSiO2 NPs response to temperature change, synthesis and biocompatibility evaluation of high aspect ratio (AR) gold nanorods.
