16. Water-based Flexographic Printing on Polymer-coated Board
Abstract : This doctoral thesis comprises three studies dealing with water-based flexography on polymer-coated boards, which have been presented in the five papers included at the end of the thesis. The first study (covered in three papers) presents results from characterisation of a matrix of water-based inks with respect to their rheology, surface tension, wetting, and fulltone printing performance on PE-coated board. 17. Stabilizers in crosslinked polydimethylsiloxane
Abstract : The loss and recovery of the surface hydrophobicity areimportant phenomena when highvoltage insulators, with a shedmaterial composed of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), are used. Theloss of hydrophobicity is mostly due to the oxidativecrosslinking which takes place on the PDMS surface duringexposure to electrical discharges, e. g. corona discharges. READ MORE

18. Numerical simulations of long spark gaps – lightning attachment and its application
Abstract : The Licenciate Thesis presented here is a research work on numerical simulations of two different electrical phenomena: Long gap discharges under switching impulses and the lightning attachment process of positive upward leaders. The development of a positive upward leader and the process of progress of a discharge in long gaps are composed of two intertwined physical phenomena, namely the leader channel and the corona zone. 19. Atmospheric pressure ionisation interface considerations for micro column separation with mass spectrometric detection
Abstract : Two miniaturised atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI) interfaces were developed for micro column separation and their performances were investigated in high temperature open tubular column liquid chromatography and capillary supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). The most influential parameters, for example, the interface probe position relative to the sampling orifice and the reagent ion plasma composition, were investigated to optimise the ion current signal and stability. 20. Thermal Degradation and Adhesion Studies of Ethylene Copolymers
Abstract : The thermal stability of ethylene(vinyl acetate) (EVA), ethylene(n-butyl acrylate) (EBA), ethylene(vinyl trimethoxy silane) (EVS) and ethylene(vinyl trimetoxy, butylacrylate) (EVSBA) copolymers have been mapped out in this study. The different ester groups', i.e. READ MORE
