  1. 1. Programming and updaing of reaching movements

    Author : Sergei Perfiliev; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Reaching movements; motor cortex; central command; neuronal recording; trajectory updating; descending pathways; spinal cord lesions;

    Abstract : Neuronal activity in the motor cortex (area 4) was recorded during reaching movements in cats, trained to perform target-reaching in response to a tone burst. Out of 350 task related neurones 12% generated short latency (20?110 ms) sensory responses to the cue triggering the reaching movement. READ MORE

  2. 2. From Human to Robot Grasping

    Author : Javier Romero; Danica Kragic; Jana Kosecka; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; computer vision; hand tracking; hand pose estimation; human-to-robot mapping; robotics; grasping; modeling; human action modeling; dimensionality reduction; taxonomy; corrective movements; visual servoing;

    Abstract : Imagine that a robot fetched this thesis for you from a book shelf. How doyou think the robot would have been programmed? One possibility is thatexperienced engineers had written low level descriptions of all imaginabletasks, including grasping a small book from this particular shelf. READ MORE

  3. 3. Dynamics of Quality Attributes Over Life Cycles of Goods and Services

    Author : Anders Fundin; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; life cycle; technology readiness; goods-to-services continuum; product development; service development; exploration; exploitation; customer feedback; service attributes; Kano s theory of attractive quality;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on seven papers and has three main objectives. The first objective is to provide a theoretical framework that explains the dynamics of quality attributes over their life cycles, considering the technology readiness of users. READ MORE

    Author : Per-Anders Fransson; Lund näs- och halssjukdomar Öron-; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical medicine; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ; Adaptation; Postural control; Proprioception; Vestibular; Posturography; neuropsykologi; Neurologi; neurophysiology; neuropsychology; Neurology; hörsel- och talorganen; audiologi; Otorinolaryngologi; auditive system and speech; audiology; Otorhinolaryngology; Movement pattern; Sensorimotor integration; Muscle fatigue; Age; Cutaneous sensation; neurofysiologi;

    Abstract : The ability to obtain correct balance control information and adjust motor performance appropriately are essential elements in effective postural control. However, functional disorders may affect the reliability of receptor information and ability to carry out corrective motions needed to maintain balance. READ MORE

  5. 5. Neural mechanisms for the visual control of spatial orientation and locomotion : Electrophysiological and behavioural studies of the supraspinal control of posture and steering in the lamprey central nervous system, with reference to visuo-motor mechanisms

    Author : Fredrik Ullén; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Abstract : Neural mechanisms for the supraspinal control of posture and steering, in particular visuo- motor control and visuo-vestibular interaction in postural control, were investigated, using the lamprey as a model system. Behavioural experiments on intact and chronically lesioned animals, intra- and extracellular recordings in vitro and retrograde staining of neurons with horseradish peroxidase were utilized. READ MORE
