1. Mechanical Properties of Welds at Creep Activation Temperatures
Abstract : Welds in materials intended for service at temperatures above the creep activation temperature often develop damage before the base metal. The weld is a discontinuity in the material and stresses and strains often accumulate in the weld. Knowledge of the properties of the weld is essential to the safe operation of the component containing the weld. READ MORE

2. Creep Behavior of High Temperature Cast Materials for Exhaust Applications
Abstract : This thesis focuses on creep of four cast materials intended for exhaust manifolds in heavy-duty truck engines. Two of the materials are ferritic ductile cast irons, SiMo51 and SiMo1000, one is an austenitic ductile cast iron, D5S, and another one is an austenitic cast steel, HK30. READ MORE

3. Thermal Crack Risk Estimation and Material Properties of Young Concrete
Abstract : This thesis presents how to establish a theoretical model to predict risk of thermal cracking in young concrete when cast on ground or an arbitrary construction. The crack risk in young concrete is determined in two steps: 1) calculation of temperature distribution within newly cast concrete and adjacent structure; 2) calculation of stresses caused by thermal and moisture (due to self-desiccation, if drying shrinkage not included) changes in the analyzed structure. 4. Non-linear behavior of bio-based composite : characterization and modeling
Abstract : The development and application of bio-based composite materials have been frequently studied. Most of the work is done on quasi-static performance of these materials. However, these composites are highly non-linear therefore there is need for investigation of their viscelastic and viscoplastic behavior. READ MORE

5. Nonlinear Creep Model of Paper and Corrugated Board Materials
Abstract : Models of the nonlinear creep behavior of paper, and of the global buckling , local buckling and creep buckling of corrugated board have been developed. The studies of creep and buckling were limited to climate conditions with constant relative humidity. First the short-term elastic buckling of corrugated board panels was studied. READ MORE
