    Abstract : This thesis presents a novel approach to integrate chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene into silicon micro- and nanoelectromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS) to fabricate different graphene based MEMS/NEMS structures and explore mechanical properties of graphene as well as their applications such as acceleration sensing, humidity sensing and CO2 sensing.     Abstract : Following growing concerns about the effect these last decades of accelerating energy consumption, escalating use of natural (not the least fossil) resources, and waste generation has had on earth’s climate, human health, and the environment, industry is facing mounting pressure to increase the energy-, resource-, and cost-efficiency of both processes and products while drastically reducing pollutant emissions.
