1. Unsteady aerodynamic effects on the driving stability of passenger vehicles
Abstract : The passenger car is a vital part of modern society, giving people the freedom of flexible travel. As technology advances, customers increase their demand for future products. The automotive industry must therefore adapt to society's requirements for energy-efficient travel, where developing low-drag vehicles is key. READ MORE

2. Driving stability of passenger vehicles under crosswinds
Abstract : Passenger cars are a vital part of modern society, giving people the freedom of flexible travel. As technology advances, customers increase their demands for future products. The automotive industry must, therefore, adapt to society's requirements of energy-efficient travel, where developing low drag vehicles is key. READ MORE

3. On motion resistance estimation and modeling for heterogeneous road vehicles
Abstract : Climate change is driving the development of CO2 reducing technologies within the transportation industry. One of the most promising technologies is battery electric vehicles. READ MORE

4. Adaptive flexibility in migratory behaviour of shorebirds
Abstract : The phenomenon of bird migration has long fascinated us humans and it has prompted questions like where do they go or come from and how do they find their way? Arctic shorebirds are well known for their spectacular long-distance migrations with some species travelling more than 10 000 km every spring and autumn, and some even cover this distance in one single nonstop flight. The aim of my thesis was to investigate the flexibility of Arctic shorebirds when it comes to orientation behaviour, departure behaviour and migration strategy. READ MORE

5. Aerodynamics simulations of ground vehicles in unsteady crosswind
Abstract : Ground vehicles, both on roads or on rail, are sensitive to crosswinds and the handling, travelling speeds or in some cases, safety can be affected. Full modelling of the crosswind stability of a vehicle is a demanding task as the nature of the disturbance, the wind gust, is complex and the aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics and driver reactions interact with each other.
