21. Theoretical Studies of Electron Transport in Quantum Dot Structures
Abstract : We calculate the phase property of the reflection coefficient in two-terminal structures using a lattice tight-binding model. It is seen that, provided that there exist two coherent reflection paths, the reflection probability can be zero for certain electron energies. READ MORE

22. Elastic and Inelastic Electron Tunneling in Molecular Devices
Abstract : A theoretical framework for calculating electron transport through molecular junctions is presented. It is based on scattering theory using a Green's function formalism. The model can take both elastic and inelastic scattering into account and treats chemical and physical bonds on equal footing. READ MORE

23. Individual Producer Responsibility in the WEEE Directive - From Theory to Practice?
Abstract : In the current discourse over what constitutes successful Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policy implementation, there is an on-going debate over the ability of programme design to include an appropriate incentive mechanism to stimulate producers to improve the design of their products for reduced life cycle impacts, and especially the impacts and costs from the end-of-life management. At the centre of the debate is the Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) which has the explicit goal to encourage the design and production of electrical and electronic products which facilitate dismantling, recovery and in particular the reuse and recycling of WEEE. 24. AC losses in HTS as a function of magnetic fields with arbitrary directions
Abstract : Although a superconductor has zero resistivity when carrying a direct current, losses do occur when it is exposed to an alternating magnetic field and/or is carrying an alternating current. The magnitude of these so-called AC losses depends on the operating temperature, the amplitude and the direction of the magnetic field, the transport current, and the frequency. READ MORE

25. Simulation of runaway electron generation during plasma shutdown by impurity injection
Abstract : Disruptions are dangerous instabilities in tokamaks that should be avoided or mitigated. One possible disruption mitigation method is to inject impurities into the plasma to shut it down in a controlled way. Runaway Electrons (REs) can be generated after the plasma is cooled down bythe impurities and these electrons can damage the tokamak. READ MORE
