1. Small-Scale Decentralized Energy Systems : optimization and performance analysis
Abstract : Small-scale polygeneration energy systems, providing multiple energy services, such as heating, electricity, cooling, and clean water, using multiple energy sources (renewable and non-renewable) are considered an important component in the energy transition movement. Exploiting locally available energy sources and providing energy services close to the end users have potential environmental, economic, and societal benefits. READ MORE

2. On Distributed Optimization in Networked Systems
Abstract : Numerous control and decision problems in networked systems can be posed as optimization problems. Examples include the framework of network utility maximization for resource allocation in communication networks, multi-agent coordination in robotics, and collaborative estimation in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). 3. Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Optimization : Comparison and Evaluation of Non-invasive Methods
Abstract : The general purpose of this thesis was to investigate new cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) optimization techniques and to assess their reliability when compared to invasive measurements of left ventricular contractility (LV dP/dtmax).We first assessed whether cardiac output (CO) measured by trans-thoracic impedance cardiography could correctly identify the optimal interventricular (VV) pacing interval while using invasive measurements of LV dP/dtmax as reference. 4. Multi-Criteria Optimization of System Integration Testing
Abstract : Optimizing software testing process has received much attention over the last few decades. Test optimization is typically seen as a multi-criteria decision making problem. One aspect of test optimization involves test selection, prioritization and execution scheduling. READ MORE

5. Optimization and Control in Dynamical Network Systems
Abstract : Dynamical network systems are complex interconnected systems useful to describe many real world problems. The advances in information technology has led the current trend towards connecting more and more systems, creating "intelligent" systems, where the intelligence originates in the scale and complexity of the network.
