1. The importance of waves in space plasmas : Examples from the auroral region and the magnetopause
Abstract : This thesis discusses the reasons for space exploration and space science. Space plasma physics is identified as an essential building block to understand the space environment and it is argued that observation and analysis of space plasma waves is an important approach.Space plasma waves are the main actors in many important processes. 2. Transition Radiation Tracker calibration, searches beyond the Standard Model and multiparticle correlations in ATLAS
Abstract : This thesis contains two different aspects of my research work towards physics in proton-proton collisions in the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The first part is focused on the understanding and developing of a calibration system to obtain the best possible charged particle reconstruction in the Transition Radiation Tracker. READ MORE

3. Phase Change Phenomena During Fluid Flow in Microchannels
Abstract : Phase change phenomena of a fluid flowing in a micro channel may be exploited to make the heat exchangers more compact and energy efficient. Compact heat exchangers offer several advantages such as light weight, low cost, energy efficiency, capability of removing high heat fluxes and charge reduction are a few to mention. READ MORE

4. Response of the PANDA electromagnetic calorimeter to photons with energies below 100 MeV
Abstract : Characteristics of the electromagnetic calorimeter of PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilations at DArmstadt), one of the key experiments at FAIR, have been measured at the tagged photon beam facility at MAX-lab for 61 energies in the range 12-63 MeV. The tested detector array consisted of 5x5 PbWO4 (lead tungstate) crystals designed for the forward end-cap. READ MORE

5. Development and Implementation of a Mouldable Soft Magnetic Composite
Abstract : Electrical machines, chokes and induction heaters are found in most homes, offices and factories all over the world. They are used to create movement, filtrate the power or to generate heat. A typical unit consist of a coil and a flux conductor material. READ MORE
