  1. 1. Cytogenetic studies of primary and metastatic breast cancer

    University dissertation from Department of Clinical Genetics, Lund University

    Author : Adewale Adeyinka; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1999]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; histokemi; cytokemi; Histologi; tissue culture; cytochemistry; histochemistry; Histology; metastases; prognosis; male breast cancer; breast cancer; trisomy 12; Cytogenetics; chromosomes; vävnadskultur; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Cancer är en genetisk sjukdom, som uppkommer genom ansamling av icke-letala mutationer. Dessa mutationer, som kan ske på både DNA- och kromosomnivå, ger cellen tillväxtfördelar och leder till klonal expansion av en cellpopulation som står utanför de normala tillväxtkontrollerna. 2. 2. Mechanosensing in the vascular wall - the role of cellular microdomains in vascular remodeling

    University dissertation from Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund Univeristy

    Author : Sebastian Albinsson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2007]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology; tissue culture; Histologi; cytokemi; histokemi; vävnadskultur; cytochemistry; histochemistry; wall stress; shear stress; hypertension; Histology; differentiation; growth; caveolin; smooth muscle; actin; Fysiologi; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish I denna avhandlig undersöks hur mekanisk sträckning påverkar den glatta muskulaturen som omger våra blodkärl. En ökad sträckning av blodkärlen sker till exempel vid högt blodtryck vilket leder till en förändrad struktur av kärlet, så kallad remodellering. READ MORE

  3. 3. The functional anatomy of kappa promoters

    University dissertation from Department of Immunology, Lund University

    Author : Mats Bemark; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1998]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; histochemistry; cytochemistry; Histology; transcription; octamer; promoters; tissue culture; Histologi; cytokemi; histokemi; vävnadskultur;

    Abstract : Immunoglobulin kappa promoters were collected from mice and man. It was shown that they had homology within but not between subgroups, and the promoters were also conserved between species. The octamer element was found in all promoters, but other sequence elements were conserved within the distinct subgroups. READ MORE

  4. 4. Involvement of eicosanoid signalling in epithelial cell migration

    University dissertation from Lund University, Faculty of Medicine

    Author : Oliver Broom; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2007]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; histokemi; cytokemi; Medicin människa och djur ; Histology; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Biomedicinska vetenskaper; Biomedical sciences; Integrin; Eicosanoid; COX-2; Cell migration; cytochemistry; histochemistry; Histologi; tissue culture; vävnadskultur;

    Abstract : The development of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and colon cancer (CC) has been shown to involve the up-regulation of inflammatory mediators and the machinery producing them such as the eicosanoids. Changes in the expression of extracellular matrix proteins and their related integrin receptors have also been shown to be important in the advancement IBD and CC. READ MORE

  5. 5. Effect of Cholecystokinin-B/Gastrin Receptor Antagonists on Rat Stomach ECL Cells

    University dissertation from Department of Pharmacology, Lund University

    Author : Xi-Qin Ding; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1997]

    Abstract : The histamine- and pancreastatin- containing ECL cells in the acid-producing mucosa of the rat stomach operate under the control of circulating gastrin. The present work examines how cholecystokinin (CCK)-B/gastrin receptors regulate the activity of the ECL cells. READ MORE
