  1. 1. Regulatory Control of Autumn Senescence in Populus tremula

    Author : Edlund Erik; Stefan Jansson; Paul Dijkwel; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Aspens; Girdling; Anthocyanins; Arginine; Autumn Senescence; Cytokinins; Populus tremula; Asp; Ringbarkning; Antocyanin; Arginin; Höstlöv; Cytokinin; Populus tremula; Physiological Botany; fysiologisk botanik;

    Abstract : Autumn senescence is a visually spectacular phenomenon in which trees prepare for the oncoming winter. The mechanism for regulation of autumn senescence in trees has been very hard to pinpoint. In this thesis the main focus is to investigate how autumn senescence is regulated in aspens (Populus tremula). READ MORE

  2. 2. Characterization of adventitious root formation in Populus species and Norway spruce

    Author : Sanaria Alallaq; Catherine Bellini; Carmen Diaz-Sala; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Adventitious root; Conifers; Picea abies; auxin; cytokinins; jasmonate; red light; Populus spp.; hybrid poplar; hybrid aspen; cambium; stem cuttings; P. tremula; Swedish Aspen SwAsp collection;

    Abstract : Adventitious root (AR) formation is a form of post-embryonic development and is a key adaptive trait in plants. De novo adventitious root regeneration represents an elegant evolutionary innovation that allows many plant species to multiply through vegetative propagation; it is widely used in forestry and horticulture to multiply elite genotypes. 5. 5. The actinorhizal symbiosis of Datisca glomerata: Search for nodule-specific marker genes

    Author : Irina V. Demina; Katharina Pawlowski; Franziska Krajinski; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; actinorhizal symbiosis; Datisca glomerata; nodule transcriptome; nodule-specific marker genes; cysteine-rich peptides; auxins and cytokinins; Plant Physiology; växtfysiologi;

    Abstract : The actinorhizal symbiosis is entered by nitrogen-fixing actinobacteria of the genus Frankia and a large group of woody plant species distributed among eight dicot families. The actinorhizal symbiosis, as well as the legume-rhizobia symbiosis, involves the stable intracellular accommodation of the microsymbionts in special organs called root nodules. READ MORE
