  2. 2. Dynamic glucose enhanced chemical exchange saturation transfer MRI : Optimization of methodology and characterization of cerebral transport kinetics

    Author : Anina Seidemo; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical exchange saturation transfer CEST ; Dynamic glucose enhanced DGE MRI; GlucoCEST; MRI; D-glucose; Fysicumarkivet A:2023:Seidemo;

    Abstract : Dynamic glucose enhanced (DGE) chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI is an emerging imaging technique that provides a molecular-specific type of image contrast, based on magnetic labelling of exchangeable protons. The technique enables the use of biodegradable sugars as contrast agents, and such compounds are believed to have less side effects than conventional MRI contrast agents. READ MORE

  4. 4. Regional Lung Kinetics of Ventilator-Induced Lung Injury and Protective-Ventilation Strategies Studied by Dynamic Positron Emission Tomography

    Author : João Batista Borges; Anders Larsson; Giacomo Bellani; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : [18F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose; positron emission tomography; acute pulmonary inflammation; acute respiratory distress syndrome; mechanical ventilation; ventilator-induced lung injury;

    Abstract : Mechanical ventilation in itself can harm the lung and cause ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI), which can induce or aggravate acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Much debate remains over pivotal concepts regarding the pathophysiology of VILI, especially about the precise contribution, kinetics, and primary role of potential VILI mechanisms. READ MORE

  5. 5. Design and synthesis of glycose-derivatives and related molecules for cell membrane mimetics

    Author : Jing Shi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A series of glucopyranose (α-D-glucose, β-D-glucose, D-gluconic acid and 6-amino-6-deoxy-D-glocuse) terminated alkanethiol acetals have been successfully synthesized. α and β-D-glucose were configured in controlled ways coupling with alkanethiol, in which bromosugar and trichloroacetirnidates were selected as activated glycosyl donors using different promoters tetraalkylammonium bromide (Et4NBr) and trimethylsilanetriflate (TMSOTf) respectively.
