  1. 11. CALLUM Linear Transmitter - Architecture and Circuit Analysis

    Author : Roland Strandberg; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Telekommunikationsteknik; Telecommunication engineering; loop time delay; modulation negative feedback; spectral emissions; baseband model; CALLUM; Linear transmitter architecture; power amplifier linearization;

    Abstract : This doctoral dissertation presents a study of linear radio transmitters based on the combined analog locked loop universal modulator (CALLUM) approach. Linear architectures such as CALLUM are very attractive for power-efficient operations, since they have no fundamental limitations prohibiting a 100% efficiency for all envelope levels, without sacrificing the potential of a linear transmission. 2. 12. Towards Early Validation and Verification of System Behaviour with Heterogenous Models in Systems Engineering

    Author : Johan Cederbladh; Antonio Cicchetti; Jagadish Suryadevara; Raffaela Mirandola; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Systems Engineering (SE) is an established paradigm for developing complex systems across several domains. As systems are becoming more complex, partly due to the increase in software-related considerations, traditional methods of SE are becoming less effective and struggle to handle the development complexity of modern systems, and more recently, the shift towards model-centric development is taking over and becoming the standard practice. 3. 13. Worth weighting for : studies on benchmark dose analysis in relation to animal ethics in toxicity testing

    Author : Joakim Ringblom; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : A purpose of chemical health risk assessment is to characterize the nature and size of the health risk associated with exposure to chemicals, including identification of a dose below which toxic effects are not expected or negligible. This is usually based on analysis of dose-response data from toxicity studies on animals. READ MORE

  4. 14. Reducing ships' fuel consumption and emissions by learning from data

    Author : Fredrik Ahlgren; Marcus Thern; Maria E. Mondejar; Cecilia Österman; Ann-Charlotte Larsson; Erik Dahlquist; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shipping; energy efficiency; orc; machine learning; emissions; Sjöfartsvetenskap; Maritime Science;

    Abstract : In the context of reducing both greenhouse gases and hazardous emissions, the shipping sector faces a major challenge as it is currently responsible for 11% of the transport sector’s anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Even as emissions reductions are needed, the demand for the transport sector rises exponentially every year. READ MORE

  5. 15. Dwell time delays for commuter trains : An analysis of the influence of passengers on dwell time delays

    Author : Ruben Kuipers; Trafik och väg; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dwell time; Passengers; Delays; Trains; Railway; Station; Automatic passenger count data;

    Abstract : The thesis presented here delves into why dwell time delays for commuter trains occur, with a specific focus on the impact of boarding and alighting passengers. The overarching aim is to develop knowledge of how time delays arise to identify and describe potential ways in which dwell time delays can be reduced. READ MORE
