21. Converter Interfaced Distributed Generation - Grid Interconnection Issues
Abstract : Distributed generation (DG) with a converter interface to the grid is found in many of the green power resources applications. In this thesis, the control of a voltage source converter (VSC), as the DG front end, is in focus regarding the power quality problems that could appear at the connection point. READ MORE

22. Tunnel Emitter Transistors
Abstract : The Tunnel Emitter Transistor is based on the modulation of the tunnel current in a Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) structure with an ultra-thin oxide layer. The modulation is accomplished by injecting charge to the oxide-semiconductor interface from a third terminal. READ MORE

23. Single-crystal Mo/V superlattices : growth, structure, and hydrogen uptake
Abstract : Fundamental studies concerning the growth, structural characterization and hydrogen uptake of single-crystal (00 l )-oriented Mo/V superlattices have been performed. The superlattices were grown by dual-target magnetron sputtering in pure Ar-atmosphere < 6·10-3 Torr on (001)-oriented MgO substrates. READ MORE

24. Cellulose-based electrical insulation materials : Dielectric and mechanical properties
Abstract : The reliability of the generation and distribution of electricity is highly dependent on electrical insulation and is essential for the prosperity of our society and a ubiquitous part of our everyday life. The present study shows how some important material properties affect the electrical properties of cellulose-based electrical insulation systems which are used together with mineral oil in high-voltage transformers. 25. Growth of Wide-Band Gap AlN and (SiC)x(AlN)1-x Thin Films by Reactive Magnetron Sputter Deposition
Abstract : The research presented in this thesis is focused on thin film synthesis of epitaxial wurtzite structure aluminum nitride (AlN) and related alloy, (SiC)x(AlN)1-x,by ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) reactive magnetron sputter deposition, on silicon carbide (6H-SiC) substrates. The emphasis of the work is on controlling the growth and quality of the films to be able to use the materials in electronic device applications. READ MORE
