  1. 16. Electrical Characterization of Partial Discharge Resistant Enamel Insulation

    Author : Tuan Anh Hoang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Enamel wire insulation; dipolar polarization; charge injection; charge transport; chromium oxide; dc conductivity; partial discharge; twisted pair.; dielectric permittivity;

    Abstract : Adjustable speed drives for rotating machines have become increasingly popular as they provide possibilities of smooth and accurate process control as well as for energy savings. In such systems, due to the fact that the voltage applied at terminals of motor windings is no longer purely sinusoidal but characterized by a high content of harmonics, the appearing electrical and thermal stresses yield premature failures of the winding insulation, mainly because of an increased partial discharge (PD) activity. 2. 17. Characteristics of wood plastic composites based on modified wood : Moisture properties, biological performance and micromorphology

    Author : Kristoffer Segerholm; Magnus Wålinder; Mark Hughes; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood plastic composites; WPC; acetylation; thermal modification; furfurylation; moisture sorption; biological durability; UV excimer laser; micromorphology;

    Abstract : Biobased materials made from renewable resources, such as wood, play an important role in the sustainable development of society. One main challenge of biobased building materials is their inherent moisture sensitivity, a major cause for fungal decay, mold growth and dimensional instability, resulting in decreased service life as well as costly maintenance. 3. 18. Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) sapwood modification by vinyl acetate-epoxidized plant oil copolymer : precursor syntheses, characterization, modified wood properties and durability

    Author : Shengzhen Cai; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A new bio-based formulation consisting of plant oil and vinyl acetate was developed for wood modification aiming at improving some of the material’s properties. In–situ epoxidation of linseed oil (LO) and soybean oil (SO) was carried out at different times with purpose of preparing epoxidized oils with various epoxy content. READ MORE

  4. 19. Acetylation of Solid Wood. Wood Properties and Process Development

    Author : Pia Larsson Brelid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microwave heating; deformation; wood; hardness; adhesive bonding; power penetration depth; shear strength; delamination; acetylation; pH; bending strength; dielectric properties; stability;

    Abstract : The influence of acetylation on selected wood properties has been determined for Scandinavian pine and spruce wood, in order to predict the behavior of acetylated wood when it is used in different applications. Only minor differences in both bending strength and the modulus of elasticity were obtained for acetylated wood when compared with unmodified wood, and can, for practical applications, be considered unaltered. 5. 20. CO oxidation over platinum-ceria catalysts -- Structural dynamics and reaction mechanisms

    Author : Mengqiao Di; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CO oxidation; Platinum catalysts; EXAFS; XANES; Operando spectroscopy; DRIFTS;

    Abstract : Catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) continues to be important due to its wide applicability in emission control, in-door air cleaning, fuel cell efficiency enhancement, chemical feedstocks purification etc. The transportation sector emits most of the CO emissions. READ MORE
