  1. 1. Quantum-state Selective Nuclear Decay Spectroscopy

    University dissertation from Lund University

    Author : Ch. Lorenz; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2018-12]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nuclear structure; alpha decay; beta decay; gamma rays; spectroscopy; Penning traps; shell-model calculations; Geant4 Monte Carlo Simulations;

    Abstract : This thesis focusses on the results of two experiments employing Penning traps to prepare pure beams of the 213Ra ground state and 127Cd, which were then studied with the decay-spectroscopy setup TASISpec. The experiments were conducted with SHIPTRAP at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt, Germany, and JYFLTRAP at the IGISOL Accelerator Facility at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. 2. 2. Housing Decay and Maintenance The Case of Public Housing in Tanzania

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Felician Komu; KTH.; [2011]
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FORESTRY; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES and LANDSCAPE PLANNING Landscape planning Landscape architecture; SKOGS- och JORDBRUKSVETENSKAP samt LANDSKAPSPLANERING Landskapsplanering Landskapsarkitektur; TECHNOLOGY Civil engineering and architecture; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Abstract : The dominant discourse in Tanzania is that home ownership is the most sustainable strategy towards solving housing problem. As a result, housing policy orientation has been towards promotion of home ownership through a land-housing linkage strategy that manifests in improvement of access to identified categories of people usually classified on resources constrained criterion. Abstract : The internal bremsstrahlung from the positon decay of 82Rb has been measured in the energy ranges 0.95-1.3 and 1.7-2. READ MORE

  4. 4. Gamow -Teller Beta Decay in Drip Line Nuclei

    University dissertation from North-Holland

    Author : Fredrik Frisk; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [1997]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gravitation; relativity; proton drip line; Gamow-Teller giant resonance; beta decay; Hartree-Fock calculation; prolate; oblate; deformed nuclei; Tamm-Dancoff approximation; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; quantum mechanics; classical mechanics; statistical physics; thermodynamics; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; klassisk mekanik; kvantmekanik; relativitet; statistisk fysik; termodynamik; Fysicumarkivet A:1997:Frisk;

    Abstract : Before radioactive ion beams became available, the Gamow-Teller (GT) giant resonance was studied using charge-exchange reactions such as (p,n) and (He,t). In beta-stable nuclei, which can be used as targets, the GT giant resonance lies above the ground state of the mother nucleus. READ MORE

    Abstract : High-spin states in the mass A~60 region were populated using the state-of-art gamma-ray spectrometers Gammasphere, Euroball, and GASP in conjunction with dedicated ancillary detectors. In particular, the 59Cu nucleus was studied in several experiments, and a very extensive level scheme was determined. READ MORE
