1. Deep learning on large neuroimaging datasets
Abstract : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging method that has become increasingly more important during the last 4 decades. This is partly because it allows us to acquire a 3D-representation of a part of the body without exposing patients to ionizing radiation. READ MORE

2. Deep Brain Stimulation Atlases in Movement Disorders : from Patient-Specific to Group Analysis
Abstract : deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established method for symptom control in movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD) and essential tremor (ET). The treatment consists in delivering electrical stimulation in the deep brain via multi-contact electrodes. READ MORE

3. Long Term Settlements in Soft Clays
Abstract : When structures are founded on deep layers of lightly overconsolidated, soft clay large settlement often occur during a long period of time after completion of the structure. Therefore it is of major importance to be able to calculate and predict the expected settlements with a satisfactory degree of accuracy, as this has a great impact on the design of the foundation and the possible need for soil improvements. 4. The PET sampling puzzle : intelligent data sampling methods for positron emission tomography
Abstract : Much like a backwards computed Sudoku puzzle, starting from the completed number grid and working ones way down to a partially completed grid without damaging the route back to the full unique solution, this thesis tackles the challenges behind setting up a number puzzle in the context of biomedical imaging. By leveraging sparse signal processing theory, we study the means of practical undersampling of positron emission tomography (PET) measurements, an imaging modality in nuclear medicine that visualises functional processes within the body using radioactive tracers. 5. Aspects of probabalistic serviceability limit state design of dry deep mixing
Abstract : An expanding population and increased need for infrastructure increasingly necessitate construction on surfaces with poor soil conditions. To facilitate the construction of buildings, roads and railroads in areas with poor soil conditions, these areas are often improved by means of foundation engineering. READ MORE
