  1. 21. Optical Monitoring of Cerebral Microcirculation

    Author : Peter Rejmstad; Karin Wårdell; Göran Salerud; Neda Haj-Hosseini; Kerstin Ramser; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optical monitoring; cerebral microcirculation; diffuse reflectance spectroswcopy DRS ; laser Doppler flowmetry LDF ;

    Abstract : The cerebral microcirculation consists of a complex network of small blood vessels that support nerve cells with oxygen and nutrition. The blood flow and oxygen delivery in the microcirculatory blood vessels are regulated through mechanisms which may be influenced or impaired by disease or brain damage resulting from conditions such as brain tumors, traumatic brain injury or subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). 2. 22. Capacitance transient measurements on point defects in silicon and silicol carbide

    Author : Hanne Kortegaard Nielsen; Anders Hallén; F. Damie Auret; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; Elektronik; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Electrically active point defects in semiconductor materials are important because they strongly affect material properties like effective doping concentration and charge carrier lifetimes. This thesis presents results on point defects introduced by ion implantation in silicon and silicon carbide. READ MORE

  3. 23. Carrier Dynamics in Single Luminescent Silicon Quantum Dots

    Author : Fatemeh Sangghaleh; Jan Linnros; Canham Leigh; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Bulk silicon as an indirect bandgap semiconductor is a poor light emitter. In contrast, silicon nanocrystals (Si NCs) exhibit strong emission even at room temperature, discovered initially at 1990 for porous silicon by Leigh Canham. READ MORE

  4. 24. Benthic environmental responses to climatic changes during the late Quaternary: a micropalaeontological and geochemical approach

    Author : Claire McKay; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; late Quaternary; rapid climate change; Benguela; Mauritania; productivity; upwelling; benthic foraminifera;

    Abstract : There is a limited understanding of how the benthic environment within upwelling regions responded to past rapid climatic changes. Within this thesis, a multiproxy approach is applied to two marine sediment cores from two coastal upwelling sites in the low latitude subtropical Atlantic. READ MORE

  5. 25. Electron paramagnetic resonance study of defects in SiC

    Author : Patrick Carlsson; Nguyen Tien Son; Erik Janzén; Evan R. Glaser; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Silicon carbide (SiC) is a wide bandgap semiconductor (energy gap of 3.26 eV and 3.03 eV for 4Hand 6H-SiC, respectively). With outstanding physical and electronic properties, SiC is a promising material for high-power, high-frequency and high-temperature applications. READ MORE
