11. Photoluminescence Studies of Single Quantum Dots
Abstract : This thesis presents photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy studies of single III-V semiconductor quantum dots (QDs). The electronic properties of the QDs, as well as, the dynamics of the processes taking part inside and in the surroundings of the QDs have been studied by single quantum dot photoluminescence spectroscopy, time resolved spectroscopy, and correlation spectroscopy. 12. Influence of MHC class I peptide interaction on antigen presentation in normal and malignant cells
Abstract : The presentation of MHC class I peptide complexes in normal and malignant cells was studied. An HLA A11 binding motif was defined by comparing synthetic peptide analogues of a known cytotoxic T Iymphocyte (CTL) target epitope for induction of surface A11 expression and triggering of cytotoxic activity. 13. Doping effects on the structural and optical properties of GaN
Abstract : Today there is a strong drive towards higher efficiency light emitters and devices for power electronics based on GaN and its ternary compounds. Device performance can be improved in several ways on the material level. READ MORE

14. Color Centers in Semiconductors for Quantum Applications : A High-Throughput Search of Point Defects in SiC
Abstract : Point defects in semiconductors have been and will continue to be relevant for applications. Shallow defects realize transistors, which power the modern age of information, and in the not-too-distant future, deep-level defects could provide the foundation for a revolution in quantum information processing. 15. Cellular models of human brain disorders from skin to brain
Abstract : Studying human brain development and disorders is very challenging. In the absence of comparable model organisms, human-related models, and limitations to obtain live cells from the human brain, induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC) technology, in particular, provided a unique tool to study the disease mechanisms and investigate potential treatments.
