  1. 1. Sensing Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Radio Waves: Studies of the 2, 3 and 4-D Structure of the Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Ground-based Radio Techniques Comprising the Global Positioning System, Microwave Radiometry and Very Long Baseline Interferometry

    Author : Lubomir Gradinarsky; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microwave radiometry; global positioning system GPS ; water vapor; tomography; meteorology; propagation delay; delay gradients; climate;

    Abstract : The radio wave propagation time, the primary observable in the geodetic techniques Global Positioning System (GPS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is affected by the presence of the atmospheric gases. By using appropriate modeling in the post-processing of the recorded phase measurements, together with local meteorological information, it is possible to estimate the total amount of atmospheric water vapor. 3. 3. Performance Analysis of Positive Systems and Optimization Algorithms with Time-delays

    Author : Hamid Reza Feyzmahdavian; Mikael Johansson; Peter Richtarik; KTH; []
    Keywords : Optimization; Delay; Positive system; Asynchronous; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Time-delay dynamical systems are used to model many real-world engineering systems, where the future evolution of a system depends not only on current states but also on the history of states. For this reason, the study of stability and control of time-delay systems is of theoretical and practical importance. READ MORE

  4. 4. Observability and identifiability of nonlinear systems with applications in biology

    Author : Milena Anguelova; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Observability; identifiability; nonlinear systems; time delay; delay systems; state elimination; metabolism; conservation laws; signalling pathways.; signalling pathways.;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the properties of observability and identifiability of nonlinear systems. It consists of two parts, the first dealing with systems of ordinary differential equations and the second with delay-differential equations with discrete time delays. READ MORE

  5. 5. Thermal Issues in Testing of Advanced Systems on Chip

    Author : Nima Aghaee Ghaleshahi; Zebo Peng; Petru Eles; Jaan Raik; Linköpings universitet; []
