  1. 1. Zirconium dioxide based dental restorations : studies on clinical survival and fracture behaviour

    Author : Christel Larsson; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Zirconium dioxide; Y-TZP; Dental restorations;

    Abstract : POPULÄRVETENSKAPLIG SAMMAN-FATTNINGAtt förlora tänder påverkar en människas utseende och funktioner såsom tal och tuggning. Det finns därmed ett behov att rehabilitera och ersätta förlorade tänder för att upprätthålla en god livskvalitet. READ MORE

  2. 2. Resin composites : Sandwich restorations and curing techniques

    Author : Anders Lindberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Adaption; Clinical; Degree of conversion; Depth of cure; Flowable; Resin composite; Restorations; SEM; Medicin;

    Abstract : Since the mid-1990s resin composite has been used for Class II restorations in stress-bearing areas as an alternative to amalgam. Reasons for this were the patients’ fear of mercury in dental amalgam and a growing demand for aesthetic restorations. READ MORE

  3. 3. Calcium aluminate cement as dental restorative : Mechanical properties and clinical durability

    Author : Karin Sunnegårdh-Grönberg; Jan van Dijken; Preben Hørsted Bindslev; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : mechanical properties; clinical; restorations; ceramic; cement; resin composite; adaptation; SEM; odontologi; Odontology;

    Abstract : In 1995, the Swedish government recommended the discontinuation of amalgam as restorative in paediatric dentistry. Because the mercury content in amalgam constitutes an environmental hazard, its use has declined. READ MORE

  4. 4. Clinical aspects of restorative treatment in the primary dentition

    Author : Mirja Varpio; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Child; Child; Preschool; Cohort Studies; Composite Resins; chemistry; DMF Index; Dental Caries; epidemiology; microbiology; pathology; therapy; Dental Cavity Preparation; classification; Dental Enamel; pathology; Dental Restoration; Permanent; statistics numerical data; Follow-Up Studies; Glass Ionomer Cements; chemistry; Humans; Molar; Prevalence; Prosthesis Failure; Recurrence; Sweden; epidemiology; Tooth; Deciduous;

    Abstract : The failure rate of restorative treatment in primary teeth was studied in a cohort of children born in 1981 and related to caries diagnosis, prevalence and distribution on different tooth surfaces, and compared with a cohort of children born in 1971. Concurrently, the longevity of composite resin in modified Class 2 cavities in primary molars was followed up and the resistance of deciduous and permanent enamel to acid adjacent to composite resin and glass polyalkeonate cement (GPA) was tested in vitro. 5. 5. On dental ceramics and their fracture : a laboratory and numerical study

    Author : Wen Kou; Göran Sjögren; Tore Dérand; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dental ceramics; Finite element analysis; Fixed partial denture; Fracture; Numerical modeling; Surface treatment; Biomaterials; Biomaterial; odontologi; Odontology;

    Abstract : Background Surface treatments and irregularities in the surfaces may affect the fracture of ceramics. The effects of various treatments on the surface texture of different types of ceramic cores/substructures was therefore qualitatively, quantitatively and numerically evaluated. READ MORE
