1. Experimental Studies of Quantum Dynamics and Coherent Control in Homonuclear Alkali Diatomic Molecules
Abstract : The main theme covered in this thesis is experimentalstudies of quantum dynamics and coherent control in homonuclearalkali diatomic molecules by ultrafast laser spectroscopy iththe implementation of pump-probe techniques.A series of experiments have been performed on the Rb2molecules in a molecular beam as well as in a thermal oven. 2. Measurement Back-Action and Photon Detection in Microwave Quantum Optics
Abstract : In quantum optics, the interaction between atoms and photons is studied. In recent years, microwave quantum optics with superconducting circuits has emerged as an important tool for fundamental quantum optics experiments, and also as a promising way for implementing quantum computation. 3. NONLINEAR MECHANICS OF GRAPHENE AND MASS-LOADING INDUCED DEPHASING IN NANORESONATORS
Abstract : I summarize the results of my research in the subjects of nonlinear mechanics of grapheneresonators, mass-loading induced dephasing in nanomechanical resonators and spintronicsbasedmesoscopic heat engines for cooling the fundamental flexural mode of a CNT resonator. This thesis consists of three parts. 4. Adiabatic Andreev Levels Under Irradiation - Coherent Dynamics and Dephasing
Abstract : A study of the Andreev level current through a weakly voltage-biased single-mode superconducting quantum point contact under microwave irradiation is presented. The applied microwave field induces resonant transitions between the current carrying Andreev states localized to the contact region, which results in an increase of the dc subgap current by several orders of magnitude. 5. Dynamics of optical and X-ray responses of molecules
Abstract : The aim of this licentiatethesis is to investigate by means of theoretical simulationsthe dynamics of light scattering by molecules, with specialemphasis on molecules in gas phase and in solutions. The first part of the thesisconcerns the two-photon absorption (TPA) process in the opticalwavelength region.
