In Sweden, the overall estimated prevalence of POP in the female population is 31% and the prevalence of symptomatic prolapse is 8–15%. The prevalence of POP increases with age. 3. Acupuncture in Obstetrics and Anaesthesia
Abstract : The aims of the present thesis (I-V) were to evaluate the analgesic and adverse effects of manual acupuncture for low-back and pelvic pain during pregnancy (I) and for labour pain (II-III), and also to study the effects of low-frequency electro acupuncture (EA) on clinical physiological responses to skin incision in anaesthetized patients (IV-V). Abstract : The bone cementation implantation syndrome (BCIS), as seen in orthopaedic patients, is characterised by intraoperative hypotension and hypoxia and loss of consciousness around the time of bone cementation.
