6. On Distribution Coefficients in Aquatic Systems
Abstract : In this thesis, different types of chemical and physical distribution coefficients are identified, examined and used to describe the fate and transport pathways of substances in aquatic systems.Observations from field experiments in streams with non-reactive and reactive tracers constituted the basis for development of an advection-dispersion model. 7. On-line Mobile in situ Gamma Spectrometry
Abstract : Mobile in situ gamma spectrometry is an important instrument in the emergency preparedness for nuclear accidents. This work contributes through the development of strategies and analysis methods for two applications: an on-line search for gamma-emitting orphan sources and on-line estimation of the depth distribution of 137Cs. 8. Methods of Measuring Radioactivity in the Environment
Abstract : In this thesis a variety of sampling methods have been utilised to assess the amount of deposited activity, mainly of Cs-137, from the Chernobyl accident and from the nuclear weapons tests. Starting with the Chernobyl accident in 1986 sampling of air and rain was used to determine the composition and amount of radioactive debris from this accident, brought to southern Sweden by the weather systems. 9. On Incentives affecting Risk and Asset Management of Power Distribution
Abstract : The introduction of performance based tariff regulations along with higher media and political pressure have increased the need for well-performed risk and asset management applied to electric power distribution systems (DS), which is an infrastructure considered as a natural monopoly. Compared to other technical systems, DS have special characteristics which are important to consider. READ MORE

10. Toward functional Metal-Organic Frameworks: molecular doping, depth profiling, and surface growth
Abstract : In this thesis, selected synthetic aspects of functional Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are considered. More specifically, the work is focused on MOFs doped with functional molecules in the role of structural linkers. READ MORE
