  1. 1. Development of a new service-oriented modelling method for information systems analysis and design

    Author : Prima Gustiené; Anders G Nilsson; Sten Carlsson; William Wei Song; Karlstads universitet; []

    Abstract : This thesis presents a new modelling method for information systems analysis and design, where the concept of service and the principles of service orientation are used for integrated modelling and reasoning about information systems architectures across organisational and technical systems boundaries. The concept of service enables cohesion of the intersubjective and objective modelling traditions by using a single type of diagram that facilitates detection of semantic inconsistency, incompleteness, ambiguity and discontinuity between the static and dynamic aspects of information systems specifications. 2. 2. Whiteness and Fluorescence in Layered Paper and Board : Perception and Optical Modelling

    Author : Ludovic Gustafsson Coppel; Per Edström; Caisa Johansson; Markku Hauta-Kasari; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Whiteness; Perception; Colour Appearance Modelling; Paper Optics; Light Scattering; Fluorescence; Lateral Light Scattering; White-Top Mottle; Kubelka-Munk; Radiative Transfer;

    Abstract : This thesis is about modelling and predicting the perceived whiteness of plain paper from the paper composition, including fluorescent whitening agents. This involves psychophysical modelling of perceived whiteness from measurable light reflectance properties, and physical modelling of light scattering and fluorescence from the paper composition. 3. 3. Study of precipitation in martensitic Fe-C-Cr alloys during tempering : Experiments and modelling

    Author : Ziyong Hou; Joakim Odqvist; Andersson Jörgen; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fe-C-Cr alloy; Microstructure; Precipitates; Tempering of martensite; Electron microscopy; Modelling.; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Abstract : Understanding the precipitation reaction is very important since precipitation hardening is one of the most effective strengthening mechanisms in metallic alloys. In martensitic steels, a tempering heat treatment is often performed. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design of Thermal Barrier Coatings : A modelling approach

    Author : Mohit Kumar Gupta; Per Nylén; Nicolaie Markocsan; Christer Persson; Lech Pawlowski; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal barrier coatings; Microstructure; Thermal conductivity; Young’s modulus; Interface roughness; Thermally grown oxide; Lifetime; Finite element modelling; Design; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Abstract : Atmospheric plasma sprayed (APS) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are commonly used for thermal protection of components in modern gas turbine application such as power generation, marine and aero engines. TBC is a duplex material system consisting of an insulating ceramic topcoat layer and an intermetallic bondcoat layer. READ MORE

  5. 5. Design of Microstructures in Thermal Barrier Coatings : A Modelling Approach

    Author : Mohit Kumar Gupta; Per Nylén; Robert Vaβen; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal barrier coatings; microstructure; thermal conductivity; Young‘s modulus; lifetime; finite element modelling; design; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Abstract : Plasma sprayed Thermal Barrier Coating systems (TBCs) are commonly used for thermal protection of components in modern gas turbine application such as power generation, marine and aero engines. The material that is most commonly used in these applications is Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) because of this ceramic’s favourable properties, such as low thermal conductivity, phase stability to high temperature, and good erosion resistance.
