  1. 11. Practical Anytime Codes

    Author : Leefke Grosjean; Lars K. Rasmussen; Ragnar Thobaben; Michael Lentmaier; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The demand of an increasingly networked world is well reflected in modern industrial control systems where communication between the different components of the system is more and more taking place over a network. With an increasing number of components communicating and with hardware devices of low complexity, the communication resources available per communication link are however very limited. READ MORE

  2. 12. A Software-Defined Baseband for Satellite Ground Operations : Feasibility and Design

    Author : Moses Browne Mwakyanjala; Jaap van de Beek; Élcio Jeronimo de Oliviera; Jaan Praks; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Software-Defined Radios; Satellite Ground Operations; Satellite Telemetry; Command; and Tracking; Onboard space systems; Rymdtekniska system;

    Abstract : Satellite telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) is a crucial activity needed to maintainthe health of a spacecraft or sometimes to facilitate payload data download. TT&Cground operations are facilitated by a communication device known in the TT&C communityas a baseband. READ MORE

  3. 13. Convergence Analysis and Design of Multiple Concatenated Codes

    Author : Fredrik Brännström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; extrinsic information transfer EXIT function; convergence analysis; Multiple concatenated codes; code search; scheduling; parameter estimation; iterative decoding; EXIT chart; puncturing;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop a methodology for designing efficient multiple concatenated coding schemes, consisting of two or more constituent codes, concatenated in serial or in parallel. Extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) analysis is found to be a suitable and versatile analysis tool for such codes and thus, the design methodology is based almost entirely on this technique. 4. 14. On the Design of Error Control Coding for Wireless Communication Systems

    Author : Carl Fredrik Leanderson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; joint source-channel decoding; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; a posteriori probability; soft decoding; list sequence decoding; incremental redundancy; retransmission; low-rate; parallel concatenated; convolutional codes; Turbo codes; Wireless; error correction;

    Abstract : New wireless services such as mobile Internet, multimedia streaming and high speed packet data access are making their way to the market. Availability of low-cost equipment providing high transmission quality and efficient spectrum utilization is crucial to the success of these services. READ MORE
