    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nonparametric; model; pharmacometrics; pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamic; imprecision; covariate analysis; parameter distribution; Statistics; computer and systems science; Statistik; data- och systemvetenskap; Pharmaceutical pharmacology; Farmaceutisk farmakologi; Biopharmaceutics; Biofarmaci; Clinical Pharmacology; Klinisk farmakologi; Computer Systems; Datorteknik; Farmakologi; Pharmacology; Statistics; Statistik;

    Abstract : A nonparametric population approach is now accessible to a more comprehensive network of modelers given its recent implementation into the popular NONMEM application, previously limited in scope by standard parametric approaches for the analysis of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data. The aim of this thesis was to assess the relative merits and downsides of nonparametric models in a nonlinear mixed effects framework in comparison with a set of parametric models developed in NONMEM based on real datasets and when applied to simple experimental settings, and to develop new diagnostic tools adapted to nonparametric models. 3. 23. Computer Assisted Coronary CT Angiography Analysis : Disease-centered Software Development

    Author : Chunliang Wang; Örjan Smedby; Anders Persson; Hans Frimmel; Markus Müller; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Coronary CTA; vessel segmenation; centerline tracking; visualization; Radiology; Radiologi; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Abstract : The substantial advances of coronary CTA have resulted in a boost of use of this new technique in the last several years, which brings a big challenge to radiologists by the increasing number of exams and the large amount of data for each patient. The main goal of this study was to develop a computer tool to facilitate coronary CTA analysis by combining knowledge of medicine and image processing. READ MORE

  4. 24. Proteomic strategies for blood biomarker development in rare dystrophinopathies

    Author : Camilla Johansson; Cristina Al-Khalili Szigyarto; Ola Söderberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Duchenne muscular dystrophy; Becker muscular dystrophy; proteomics; affinity-proteomics; biomarkers; DIA-MS; SRM-MS; immunoassay; suspension bead arrays; Duchenne muskeldystrofi; Becker muskeldystrofi; proteomik; affinitetsproteomik; biomarkörer; DIA-MS; SRM-MS; immunoassay; suspension bead array; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Abstract : Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) are two rare genetic disorders of the family dystrophinopathy. They are both caused by the lack of, or reduced production of, the protein dystrophin. READ MORE

    Abstract : Genomic DNA is the template of life - the entity which is characterized by a self-sustaining anatomical development, regulated signaling processes, the ability to reproduce and to respond to stimuli. Through what is classically known as the central dogma, the genome is transcribed into mRNA, which in turn is translated into proteins. READ MORE
