  1. 1. Dewatering aspects at the forming section of the paper machine Rewetting and forming fabric structure

    University dissertation from Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Author : Björn Sjöstrand; Karlstads universitet.; [2017]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rewetting; forming fabric; forming section; dewatering; web dryness; high vacuum suction box; vacuum dewatering; forming fabric design; numerical model; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The underlying motives of the research undertaken here are twofold: to obtain a deeper understanding of the dewatering mechanisms at the forming section of a papermaking machine and to develop numerical models that describe the flow through forming fabrics. More comprehensive knowledge of dewatering in the forming section allows suggestions to be made for improvements that reduce the amount of energy used in the process without affecting the quality of the end product. 2. 2. On the Modelling of Mechanical Dewatering in Papermaking

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Vinicius Lobosco; KTH.; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; paper; modelling; dewatering; forming; wet pressing; fibre network stress; rheology; hysteresis; intra-fibre water; compressibility; structural stress; stress-strain; restricted gels; swelling;

    Abstract : Most of the water fed into a paper machine is removedmechanically in the forming and press sections. One of thefactor which has an important influence on mechanicaldewatering, i.e. in both forming and pressing, is thestress-strain behaviour of the fibre network. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Suction Box Dewatering Mechanisms

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Peter Åslund; KTH.; [2008]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Suction box; vacuum; water removal; compressibility; displacement; rewetting; laboratory equipment; TECHNOLOGY Chemical engineering Chemical process and manufacturing engineering Cellulose and paper engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Kemiteknik Kemisk process- och produktionsteknik Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Abstract : In previous studies on suction box dewatering, three mechanisms were identified that determine the dry content of a web, viz. web compression, displacement of water by air and rewetting. READ MORE

  5. 5. Through air drying The influence of formation and pulp type on non-uniform drying and air flow

    University dissertation from Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Author : Aron Tysén; Karlstads universitet.; [2014]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Drying; Dewatering; Water removal; Moisture; Non-uniformity; Variability; Tissue; TAD; Through air drying; Thermography; Formation; Pulp; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The removal of water is an integral part of tissue paper production. Through air drying (TAD) is used for water removal when producing premium tissue grade products, however, at the price of higher energy demand. A better understanding of TAD may therefore lower the energy demand. READ MORE
