21. On the role of the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor gene in hematopoietic differentiation
Abstract : The aim of this study was to investigate the role of some tumor suppressor gene products (with emphasis on the retinoblastoma suppressor gene product) in the regulation of differentiation and proliferation in leukemic and normal hematopoietic cells. For this purpose, the expression of the tumor suppressor genes RB, p53 and p16 were artificially altered. READ MORE

22. Regulation of growth, differentiation and survival of B-chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells
Abstract : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia of B cell type (B-CLL) is the most commonform of leukemia in the Western countries. The signals regulating theexpansion of the B-CLL clone in vivo is yet far from being fully understood. READ MORE

23. The role of nuclear envelope proteins in chromatin organization, differentiation and disease
Abstract : In eukaryotes the genetic material is separated from the cytoplasm by the nuclear envelope (NE), consisting of the outer and inner nuclear membrane, the nuclear lamina and the nuclear pores. The genetic material is highly structured with transcriptionally inactive heterochromatin enriched at the nuclear periphery and transcriptionally active euchromatin in the nuclear interior. READ MORE

24. Mechanisms of stretch-induced growth and contractile differentiation in vascular smooth muscle
Abstract : Vascular smooth muscle can adapt to increased intraluminal pressure by remodelling and hypertrophy, as seen in hypertension. The molecular mechanisms responsible for this are still incompletely characterized. READ MORE

25. Differentiation, didactics and inequality: How rich and poor populations are educatied for sustainability
Abstract : In recent decades, education for sustainable development (ESD) has gained prominence as an urgent educational imperative. Although ESD is championed by UNESCO as contributing to a just, and sustainable future, the question remains open whether it is possible to address all of humanity in a just and equitable manner in a highly unequal world.
