  1. 1. Diffusion of dynamic innovations : A case study of residential solar PV systems

    Author : Emrah Karakaya; Cali Nuur; Antonio Hidalgo; Anna Bergek; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Dynamic innovations; diffusion; residential solar; photovoltaics; time; space; Industriell ekonomi och organisation; Industrial Engineering and Management;

    Abstract : In the literature on diffusion of innovations, it is widely known that the characteristics and socio-environmental settings of adopters do evolve in space and time. What about innovations themselves? During the diffusion process, don’t some innovations continuously alter in space and time? If so, how does the dynamic character of an innovation influence the diffusion process? In previous research, it has been often assumed that innovations do not continuously alter or get modified when diffusing from a source to potential adopters. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hydrogen in nano-sized metals : Diffusion and hysteresis effects

    Author : Wen Huang; Björgvin Hjörvarsson; Max Wolff; Gavin Walker; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Hydrogen; diffusion; hysteresis; optical technique; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : Metal hydrides can be used as hydrogen storage materials for fuel cells and batteries, and as sensors for detecting hydrogen gas. The use of metal hydrides for hydrogen storage can be hindered by poor kinetics and low capacity. Moreover, poor sensitivity, long recovery and response time, limit the applications of metal hydrides as hydrogen sensors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Investigation of Water Mobility using Diffusion-Sensitive MRI: The Role of q-Space Imaging, High b-Values and Diffusion Time

    Author : Jimmy Lätt; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MRI; kurtosis; high b-value; diffusion; diffusion time; NMR; q-space;

    Abstract : Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) diffusometry provides important information about molecular motion on a microscopic scale. The advantage of NMR diffusometry is its ability to characterise microstructures non-invasively. This has made the method important not only in chemistry, biochemistry and materials science, but also in medicine. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mechanisms of salt frost scaling on portland cement-bound materials: studies and hypothesis

    Author : Sture Lindmark; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Deterioration; Durability; Freeze-Thaw; Frost; Salt; Mechanism; Chloride; Diffusion; Adsorption; Building construction; Cement; Concrete; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : A hypothesis regarding the mechanism causing salt frost scaling on Portland cement-bound materials is described. It is assumed that deterioration is due to osmotic micro ice body growth, as has been previously proposed for frost deterioration of moisture-isolated specimens of cement-bound materials. READ MORE

  5. 5. Exploring Dye-Sensitized Mesoporous NiO Photocathodes : from Mechanism to Applications

    Author : Lei Tian; Haining Tian; Leif Hammarström; Fabrice Odobel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NiO; p-type; dye-sensitized solar cells; solid state; charge separation; charge recombination; charge diffusion; transport time; surface states; electron conductor; dye regeneration; Kemi med inriktning mot kemisk fysik; Chemistry with specialization in Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : Increasing attention has been paid on solar energy conversion since the abundant solar energy possesses the potential to solve the problems on energy crisis and climate change. Dye-sensitized mesoporous NiO film was developed as one of the attractive photocathodes to fabricate p-type dye-sensitized solar cells (p-DSCs) and dye-sensitized photoelectrosynthetic cells (p-DSPECs) for electricity and chemical fuels generation, respectively.
