  1. 1. Multiparametric MRI for evaluation of tumour treatment response : Studies of 177Lu-octreotate therapy of neuroendocrine tumour

    Author : Mikael Montelius; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer; Functional imaging; IVIM; MRI; DWI; DCE; histology; 177Lu-octreotate; small intestine neuroendocrine tumour; NET; diffusion; perfusion; semi-quantitative; proteomics; ionizing radiation; biology; imaging biomarker;

    Abstract : Clinical assessment of tumour response to treatment largely relies on estimates of tumour size by, e.g., measuring the largest tumour diameters on magnetic resonance (MR) or computed tomography (CT) images, weeks or months after treatment. READ MORE

  2. 2. Diffusion of Water in Foods during Heating

    Author : Karin Thorvaldsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : diffusion; mass transfer; mass transport; porous; water; moisture; heat; food;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this research was to improve the knowledge of diffusion of water in foods during heating, so that the final quality of foods after heat processing could be predicted and controlled. The work consisted of three main parts. The first part involved the development of a method to study the diffusion. READ MORE

  3. 3. Alternative methods for analysing moisture transport in buildings : Utilisation of tracer gas and natural stable isotopes

    Author : Kjartan Gudmundsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tracer gas; water vapour permeability; diffusion; surface diffusion; isotopic analysis; deuterium; oxygen-18; fractionation; vapour barrier; transient numerical modelling of diffusion; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : New methods, based on tracer gas measurements and isotopicanalysis can be used to evaluate the moisture properties ofbuilding materials and provide the means for forensic analysisof the origins and history of excessive water in buildings, theimmediate practical consequences of which will be the abilityto improve the moisture performance of constructions. It is shown, in theory and through measurements how thewater vapour permeability of porous building materials can witha good degree of accuracy be estimated with tracer gasmeasurements that provide an efficient alternative to the cupmethod. 4. 4. Diffusion Dynamics and the Pricing of Innovations

    Author : Fredrik Link; Företagsekonomiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Structural Equation Modeling; Telecommunication Product Domain; Technological Lock-in; Network Externalities; Perceived Product Value; Take-off; Innovativeness; Pricing; Adoption; Innovation; Diffusion; LISREL; Market study; Marknadsanalys;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis deals with two closely interconnected phenomena, the adoption and diffusion of innovations. The research aims at developing both the theory of individual adoption decisions and the theory of the diffusion of an innovation in society. READ MORE

  5. 5. Intestinal transport of levodopa : Implications for the therapy of Parkinson's disease

    Author : Dag Nilsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurosciences; Parkinson s disease; levodopa. duodenal Infusion; intestinal permeability; positron emission tomography; Neurovetenskap; Neurology; Neurologi; Neurology; neurologi;

    Abstract : Levodopa has been the basic treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease for the last 30 years. However, with time nearly all patients develop fluctuations in motor performance correlated to levodopa plasma concentrations. READ MORE
