21. Studies on Selected Topics in Radio Frequency Digital-to-Analog Converters
Abstract : The network latency in fifth generation mobile technology (5G) will be around one millisecond which is much lower than in 4G technology. This significantly faster response time together with higher information capacity and ultra-reliable communication in 5G technology will pave the way for future innovations in a smart and connected society. 22. Digital communication in wireline and wireless environments
Abstract : This thesis consists of an introduction and five parts dealing with digital communication. Three parts address Discrete Multi-Tone modulation (DMT), a wireline form of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). READ MORE

23. Studies on CMOS Digital-to-Analog Converters
Abstract : In this thesis we present an overview and study on digital-to-analog converters (DAC), mainly for communications applications. Especially, we look at some digital subscriber line (DSL) specifications and communication over twisted-pair channels. READ MORE

24. Nanostructured ZnO and metal chalcogenide films for solar photocatalysis
Abstract : The increasing demand for clean energy and safe water resources has driven the development of efficient and sustainable technologies. Among these technologies, photocatalysis using semiconducting materials has emerged as a promising solution for both solar hydrogen generation and water purification. READ MORE

25. Accuracy of mRNA Translation in Bacterial Protein Synthesis
Abstract : Reading of messenger RNA (mRNA) by aminoacyl-tRNAs (aa-tRNAs) on the ribosomes in the bacterial cell occurs with high accuracy. It follows from the physical chemistry of enzymatic reactions that there must be a trade-off between rate and accuracy of initial tRNA selection in protein synthesis: when the current accuracy, the A-value, approaches its maximal possible value, the d-value, the kinetic efficiency of the reaction approaches zero.
