1. Digital Geometry and Khalimsky Spaces
Abstract : Digital geometry is the geometry of digital images. Compared to Euclid’s geometry, which has been studied for more than two thousand years, this field is very young.Efim Khalimsky’s topology on the integers, invented in the 1970s, is a digital counterpart of the Euclidean topology on the real line. 2. Pseudomyxoma Peritonei : Aspects of Natural History, Learning Curve, Treatment Outcome and Prognostic Factors
Abstract : Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare disease characterized by mucinous peritoneal metastasis (PM). Different loco-regional treatment strategies, i.e. debulking surgery and cytoreductive surgery (CRS) in combination with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), have changed the prognosis for these patients. 3. Observational Uncertainties in Water-Resources Modelling in Central America : Methods for Uncertainty Estimation and Model Evaluation
Abstract : Knowledge about spatial and temporal variability of hydrological processes is central for sustainable water-resources management, and such knowledge is created from observational data. Hydrologic models are necessary for prediction for time periods and areas lacking data, but are affected by observational uncertainties. READ MORE

4. DIGITAL ANALYSIS OF CARDIAC ACOUSTIC SIGNALS IN CHILDREN
Abstract : DIGITAL ANALYSIS OF CARDIAC ACOUSTIC SIGNALS IN CHILDREN Milad El-Segaier, MD Division of Paediatric Cardiology, Department of Paediatrics, Lund University Hospital, Lund, Sweden SUMMARY Despite tremendous development in cardiac imaging, use of the stethoscope and cardiac auscultation remains the primary diagnostic tool in evaluation of cardiac pathology. With the advent of miniaturized and powerful technology for data acquisition, display and digital signal processing, the possibilities for detecting cardiac pathology by signal analysis have increased. 5. Physical and psychophysical properties of digital intraoral radiography
Abstract : Objectives: This thesis aimed to the evaluation of different digital intraoral radiographic systems, partly by defining objective measures of their physical properties, namely their resolution, signal and noise characteristics, and partly by employing methods to measure their psychophysical properties including viewer performance, such as the Perceptibility Curve test. In a next step, a mathematical model was developed to predict Perceptibility Curves without employing viewers. READ MORE
