1. Droplet growth in atmospheric turbulence : A direct numerical simulation study
Abstract : This Ph.D. thesis examines the challenging problem of how turbulence affects the growth of cloud droplets in warm clouds. Droplets grow by either condensation or collision. READ MORE

2. Direct numerical simulations of the rotating-disk boundary-layer flow
Abstract : This thesis deals with the instabilities of the incompressible boundary-layer flow that is induced by a disk rotating in otherwise still fluid. The results presented are mostly limited to linear instabilities derived from direct numerical simulations (DNS) but with the objective that further work will focus on the nonlinear regime, providing greater insights into the transition route to turbulence. 3. Mitigation of Pressure Pulsations in Francis Turbine Draft Tube with a GuideVane System : A Numerical Investigation
Abstract : The use of renewable energy such as water and wind to produce electricity has been proven extremely effective in Sweden. The ability of these renewable resources to produce clean output energy counters the adversities caused by non-renewable resources. READ MORE

4. Numerical Quantum Dynamics
Abstract : We consider computational methods for simulating the dynamics of molecular systems governed by the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. Solving the Schrödinger equation numerically poses a challenge due to its often highly oscillatory solutions, and to the exponential growth of work and memory with the number of particles in the system. 5. Direct numerical simulation of turbulent flow in plane and cylindrical geometries
Abstract : This thesis deals with numerical simulation of turbulentflows in geometrically simple cases. Both plane and cylindricalgeometries are used. The simplicity of the geometry allows theuse of spectral methods which yield a very high accuracy usingrelatively few grid points. A spectral method for planegeometries is implemented on a parallel computer. READ MORE
