1. Analyzing car ownership and route choices using discrete choice models
Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts. The first part analyzesthe accessibility, generation and license holding effects incar ownership models. The second part develops a route choicemodeling framework with an attempt to address the differencesin drivers' route choice behavior. READ MORE

2. Linear Models of Nonlinear Systems
Abstract : Linear time-invariant approximations of nonlinear systems are used in many applications and can be obtained in several ways. For example, using system identification and the prediction-error method, it is always possible to estimate a linear model without considering the fact that the input and output measurements in many cases come from a nonlinear system. 4. Five papers on large scale dynamic discrete choice models of transportation
Abstract : Travel demand models have long been used as tools by decision makers and researchers to analyse the effects of policies and infrastructure investments. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a travel demand model which is: sensitive to policies affecting timing of trips and time-space constraints; is consistent with microeconomics; and consistently treats the joint choice of the number of trips to perform during day as well as departure time, destination and mode for all trips. 5. Essays on Unit-Root Testing and on Discrete-Response Modelling of Firm Mergers
Abstract : Essay 1 investigates the time-series properties of the price of iron ore. The focus is on unit-root testing in the presence of a structural break. Unit-root tests with or without structural breaks are applied to historical prices of five different qualities of Swedish and Brazilian iron ore. Tests with exogenous or endogenous breaks are analyzed. READ MORE
