1. A Simulation-Based Optimisation Method for PLC Systems
Abstract : Tuning of process parameters such as time constants, cam values, velocities and robot paths, in order to increase capacity utilisation, is today a challenging manual on-line task in many automated manufacturing systems. On-line methods interfere with production and will cause unwanted downtime, which indeed reduces capacity utilisation. READ MORE

2. Optimisation of Long-Term Industrial Planning
Abstract : In this thesis, long-term optimisation methods for industrial transition processes have beendeveloped, taking monetary and environmental considerations into account. Two different methods forinvestment optimisation have been developed. READ MORE

3. From Declarative Models to Local Search
Abstract : A solver is a general-purpose software for solving optimisation problems. It takes as input a description of a problem, called a model, and uses a collection of algorithms, called its solving technology, to ideally produce an optimal solution as output. Most solvers have a modelling language that cannot be processed by other solvers. READ MORE

4. Environmentally Friendly Construction Processes Under Uncertainty : Assessment, Optimisation and Robust Decision-Making
Abstract : The construction processes of building and civil infrastructure are broadly recognised as large contributors to the environmental degradation, which cause environmental impacts directly and indirectly by massive energy use, intensive greenhouse emissions, and significant resources consumption. The report from Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and the Swedish Construction Federation (Byggföretagen) shows that the total carbon dioxide equivalents emitted per year from construction processes are the same size as emissions from all of the cars in Sweden, and more than that is generated by all lorries and busses. 5. Optimisation of Off-Road Transport Missions
Abstract : Mines, construction sites, road construction and quarries are examples of applications where construction equipment are used. In a production chain consisting of several construction machines working together, the work needs to be optimised and coordinated to achieve an environmental friendly, energy efficient and productive production.
