    Abstract : This dissertation explores ways in which “queer digital media use” co-produces senses of space, time, and queer being in contemporary Russia. Considering the particular implications of (in)visibility for queer living, and the importance of compartmentalizing conflicting spheres, the study provides a grounded account of queer life lived with and through digital media in a context currently characterized by “anti-gay” sentiments. 2. 2. Concrete pavements’ repair techniques and numerical assessment of dowel bar load transfer efficiency

    Author : Saima Yaqoob; Johan Silfwerbrand; Larissa Strömberg; Anne Beeldens; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concrete pavements; Rapid repair; Precast slabs; Dowel bar; Load transfer efficiency; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Abstract : Concrete pavements are a suitable alternative for high-traffic volume roads, concentrated loads and roads exposed to severe weather conditions. In Sweden, among other reasons, the scarcity of concrete pavements is attributed to the need for more national knowledge and expertise in the field. READ MORE

  3. 3. On fiber network fracture mechanics and kink band formation in biocomposites

  4. 4. Modelling the time-dependent, damage and fracture mechanical properties of load-bearing soft biological tissues

    Author : Christopher Miller; T. Christian Gasser; Anna Pandolfi; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solid Mechanics; Hållfasthetslära;

    Abstract : Load-carrying soft biological tissues exhibit a wide range of complex time-dependent, damage, and fracture mechanical properties. An effective comprehension of such behaviour is advantageous in characterising tolerance to injury and can provide valuable insights regarding the incidence and progression of certain diseases. 5. 5. Phase transitions and phase frustration in multicomponent superconductors

    Author : Daniel Weston; Egor Babaev; Mats Wallin; Ilya Eremin; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Multicomponent superconductors described by several complex matter fields have properties radically different from those of their single-component counterparts. Examples include partially ordered phases and spontaneous breaking of time-reversal symmetry due to frustration between Josephson-coupled components. READ MORE
