  1. 26. Speciation and Transport of Radionuclides from the Chernobyl Accident within the Gideå Site

    Author : Paul Carbol; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The transport and redistribution of radionuclides originating from the Chernobyl accident were studied within a 1 km2 area in the northeastern part of Sweden (the Gideå site). Physical and chemical speciation of the fallout radionuclides were investigated on water samples collected within the study site using techniques developed especially for this purpose. READ MORE

  2. 27. Ferromagnetic Resonance as a Probe of Magnetization Dynamics : A Study of FeCo Thin Films and Trilayers

    Author : Yajun Wei; Peter Svedlindh; Sujeet Chaudhary; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ferromagnetic resonance FMR ; Gilbert damping; magnetic coupling; FeCo;

    Abstract : The high frequency dynamic magnetic responses of FeCo thin films and structures have been investigated mainly using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technique.The FMR resonance condition and linewidth are first derived from the dynamic Landau- Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, followed by a study of the conversion between FMR field and frequency linewidths. 3. 28. Essays on Income Taxation and Wealth Inequality

    Author : Jacob Lundberg; Håkan Selin; Spencer Bastani; Helena Svaleryd; Tomas Sjögren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; public economics; income taxation; wealth inequality; Laffer curve; redistribution; microsimulation; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with inequality, redistribution and taxation, in particular the taxation of labour income and the distribution of wealth. Most of the analysis is focused on Sweden. The thesis consists of four self-contained essays.Essay 1: “Analyzing tax reforms using the Swedish Labour Income Microsimulation Model”. READ MORE

  4. 29. Numerical modelling of fluid flow and particle transport in rough rock fracture during shear

    Author : Tomofumi Koyama; Lahru Jing; Auli Niemi; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; single rock fracture; coupled stress-flow test; shear displacement; fluid flow; particle; Geoengineering; Geoteknik;

    Abstract : The effects of different shearing processes and sample sizes on the fluid flow anisotropy and its impact on particle transport process in rough rock fractures are significant factors that need to be considered in the performance and safety assessments of underground nuclear waste repositories. The subjects, however, have not been adequately investigated previously in either laboratory experiments or numerical modeling. READ MORE
