1. Diffraction in high-energy collisions
Abstract : This thesis concerns itself with low-momentum-transfer processes in high-energy particle collisions. These processes cannot be described in the framework of the fundamental theory of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), but rely on a pre-QCD approach, the Regge theory. READ MORE

2. A potential for democratic emancipation? : Policy and discretionary practices in probation service
Abstract : How can offender supervision in the execution of state-sanctioned punishment integrate instances of democratic emancipation and thereby inspire participatory citizenship for disenfranchised clients? This project balances an interest in social work and its prospects for delivering emancipation through motivational agency, on the one hand, with an attentiveness to recent developments in Scandinavian criminal policy, on the other. In an attempt to “bridge” these interests, the research focuses on offender rehabilitation. READ MORE

4. Gene Therapy for Neurological Disorders
Abstract : Gene therapy is an attractive strategy for neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy, for several reasons. Introduction of genes with a therapeutic potential can be achieved locally, by accurate injections in the compromised tissue, and release of a transgene therapeutic substance can be regulated by the surrounding host neural circuitry. 5. Regulation and Function of the Human Leukotriene D4 Receptor CysLT1 in Epithelial Cells and Colon Cancer
Abstract : The pro-inflammatory mediators leukotrienes have shown to be important players in the pathogenesis of diseases like asthma and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Patients suffering from IBD have been found to have an increased risk of developing colon cancer. READ MORE
