  1. 11. Endogenous modulators of hyperexcitability in epilepsy: electrophysiological and optogenetic delineation of neuropeptide Y mechanisms in interneurons

    Author : Marco Ledri; Lund Neurologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; interneurons; Epilepsy; Neuropeptide Y; synaptic transmission; synaptic plasticity; electrophysiology; optogenetics;

    Abstract : Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders worldwide, affecting 1% of the general population, and is characterized by a predisposition for the generation of epileptic seizures. Despite having several different aetiologies, a common underlying cause of epilepsy seems to be an acquired imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory circuits in the brain, which leads to hyperexcitability and appearance of seizures. 3. 13. Generic Drug Switch in Epilepsy – Pharmacokinetic and Clinical Aspects

    Author : Patrik Olsson; Helsingborg Kliniska Vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Generic drug; Antiepileptic drugs; Pharmacokinetics; Treatment outcome;

    Abstract : Background and aim: Generic drugs contain the same active ingredients as brand- name drugs, with the advantage of much lower costs. The aim of this thesis was to contribute new knowledge to the ongoing debate on the safety of generic antiseizure drug (ASD) substitutions. There was a particular emphasis on the pharmacokinetic and clinical outcomes. READ MORE
