  1. 1. Process development and Reliability Study for System-in-a-Package by using a Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrate

    Author : Liu Chen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; and Adhesion; Finite Element Simulation; Embedded Active and Passives Technology; System-in-a-Package; Liquid Crystal Polymer; Electroless Copper Plating;

    Abstract : System-in-a-package (SiP) aims to integrate all of the system functions within a system-level package, containing multiple ICs and other components interconnected through a high-density substrate. SiP is characterized by dividing chip functions among several smaller chips, by connecting chips in the first stage of board manufacture, and by integrating passive components in the substrate. 2. 2. Multi-scale analysis of mechanical phenomena in NCF composites

    Author : David Mattsson; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial; Polymeric Composite Materials;

    Abstract : Mechanical phenomenon in Non Crimp Composites is studied in this thesis using a multiscale approach. This approach is choosen due to the architecture of the composite which is heterogenic both on micro as well as mesoscale. READ MORE

  3. 3. Three-Dimensional Load-Deformation Relationships of Arbitrarily Loaded Coiled Springs

    Author : Lars Lindkvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; extended stiffness model; helical spring; non-linear deformation; stiffness matrix; coiled spring; arbitrary load; large deformation; three-dimensional;

    Abstract : This paper reports the development of a computer based tool that can be used to predict the three-dimensional load-deformation relationships of arbitrarily loaded coiled springs. The non-linear deformation of the spring is calculated by dividing the spring into small elements for which the load-deformation relationships can be considered to be linear. READ MORE

  4. 4. Material distribution-based topology optimization for wave propagation problems

    Author : Ahmad Hasnain Bokhari; Eddie Wadbro; Martin Berggren; Roland Herzog; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; topology optimization; material distribution; wave propagation problems; Helmholtz equation; acoustics; electromagnetics; plasmonics;

    Abstract : This thesis employs material distribution-based topology optimization for wave propagation problems. In the material distribution approach, we define a material indicator function that models the presence and absence of material in a design domain. READ MORE

  5. 5. On interactions between Packaging and Logistics - Exploring implications of technological developments

    Author : Daniel Hellström; Förpackningslogistik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Supply Chain; Case study; Simulation; Radio Frequency Identification; Technological sciences; Retail; Packaging; Logistics;

    Abstract : Packaging is a fundamental element in logistics systems. Packaging not only affects every logistical activity; it is also recognised as having a significant impact on logistics costs and performance. READ MORE
