  1. 1. Design of programmable multi-standard baseband processors

    Author : Anders Nilsson; Dake Liu; Gerhard Fettweis; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DSP; baseband processor; ASIP; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Abstract : Efficient programmable baseband processors are important to enable true multi-standard radio platforms as convergence of mobile communication devices and systems requires multi-standard processing devices. The processors do not only need the capability to handle differences in a single standard, often there is a great need to cover several completely different modulation methods such as OFDM and CDMA with the same processing device. 2. 2. Superconductor Digital Signal Processor

    Author : Irina Kataeva; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rapid Single Flux Quantum logic RSFQ ; multiuser detector; VHDL; Multiply-Accumulate Unit; Successive Interference Canceller;

    Abstract : Superconductor digital technology based on Rapid Single Flux Quantum logic (RSFQ) offers more than 50 times gain in speed and more than 100 reduction in power consumption over mainstream CMOS devices. However, the necessity of cooling down to 4 K and modest degree of integration density currently available mean that employing RSFQ is reasonable only for the tasks that are impossible or ineffective to implement in CMOS technology. 3. 3. Design of Programmable Baseband Processors

    Author : Eric Tell; Dake Liu; Béatrice Philibert; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; programmable; baseband; application specific; processor; architecture; instruction set; acceleration; software defined radio SDR ; digital signal processing DSP ; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Abstract : The world of wireless communications is under constant change. Radio standards evolve and new standards emerge. More and more functionality is put into wireless terminals. E. READ MORE

  4. 4. NoGAP: Novel Generator of Accelerators and Processors

    Author : Per Axel Karlström; Dake Liu; Peter Marwedel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ADL; ESL; Processor; Accelerator; Compiler; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Abstract : ASIPs are needed to handle the future demand of flexible yet highperformance embedded computing. The flexibility of ASIPs makes them preferable over fixed function ASICs. Also, a well designed ASIP, has a power consumption comparable to ASICs.  However the cost associated with ASIP design is a limiting factor for a more wide spread adoption. READ MORE

  5. 5. Towards a Power and Performance Simulation Framework for Parallel DSP Architecture

    Author : Minh Quang Do; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DSP architecture; Power estimation models; Power estimation simulation;

    Abstract : High performance, low power and low cost will continue to be driving factors for digital signal processor (DSP) and embedded computer systems of the future. Recent improvements of semiconductor technology have led to faster circuits, higher density, and smaller dimensions. READ MORE
