  1. 1. Orthonormal Motion-Adaptive Transforms for Image Sequences

    Author : Du Liu; Markus Flierl; Peter Schelkens; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we propose and discuss a class of motion-adaptive transforms (MAT) to describe the temporal correlation in image sequences for compression. The temporal correlation is based on motion models, and undirected graphs are used to represent this correlation in image sequences. The transforms are adaptive to general motion fields. READ MORE

  2. 2. Some results on closed-loop identification of quadcopters

    Author : Du Ho; Martin Enqvist; Gustaf Hendeby; Alexander Medvedev; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : In recent years, the quadcopter has become a popular platform both in research activities and in industrial development. Its success is due to its increased performance and capabilities, where modeling and control synthesis play essential roles. READ MORE

  3. 3. Studies of Light Emitting Devices Based on Er-doped Si and SiGe Layered Structures

    Author : Chun-Xia Du; Fransesco Priolo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electroluminescence; diode; transistor; hot electron; recombination; excitation; de-excitation; Auger effect; molecular beam epitaxy; Er; Si; SiGe;

    Abstract : Doping with rare earth element erbium (Er) in Si has recently attracted a lot of research interest due to potential applications in Si-based opto-electronics. By using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), precipitate-free Er-doping in Si has been made together with other co-dopants, e.g., oxygen (0) and fluorine (F), up to a level ∼1020 cm-3. READ MORE

  4. 4. Phase separation in duplex stainless steel: characterization and mitigation

    Author : Jianling Liu; Peter Hedström; Joakim Odqvist; Wangzhong Mu; Aniruddha Biswas; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; duplex stainless steel; 475 °C embrittlement; phase separation; small-angle neutron scattering; mechanical properties; alloying elements; cooling rate; magnetic field; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Duplex stainless steel (DSS) is a category of widely used stainlesssteel, which are strategically important in a variety of applications such asin the food industry, chemical engineering plants and nuclear power plants,due to their attractive combination of mechanical properties and corrosionresistance. However, these steel grades are sensitive to the so-called ‘475°Cembrittlement’, because of a phase separation (PS) phenomenon in theferrite phase, which decomposes into Fe-rich ferrite (α) and Cr-rich ferrite(α'), when exposed to temperatures within the miscibility gap. 5. 5. Context-aware human-robot collaboration in assembly

    Author : Hongyi Liu; Lihui Wang; Gunnar Bolmsjö; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Production Engineering; Industriell produktion;

    Abstract : The PhD study is aiming to increase the accuracy and efficiency of human-robot collaborative (HRC) assembly systems. To achieve this goal, four main directions are investigated in this research. READ MORE
