    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Price setting; inflation targeting; misallocation; competition; international trade; labor share; welfare; entrepreneurs; wealth inequality; dual taxation; tax reform; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of three self-contained essays.Essay I: Using detailed Swedish micro data on prices and costs, this paper documents a decrease in the dispersion of changes in prices and markups following the introduction of an official inflation target of 2 percent. READ MORE

  2. 17. Understanding the dual nature of lysozyme: part villain – part hero : A Drosophila melanogaster model of lysozyme amyloidosis

    Author : Linda Helmfors; Ann-Christin Brorsson; Bengt-Harald (Nalle) Jonsson; R. Luke Wiseman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Amyloid proteins are a distinct class of proteins that can misfold into β-sheet rich structures that later mature to form the characteristic species known as amyloid fibrils, and accumulate in tissues in the human body. The misfolding event is often caused by mutations (or outer factors such as changes in pH) that destabilize the native protein structure. READ MORE

  3. 18. Essays on Inflation Expectations, Monetary Policy and Tax Reform

    Author : Kerstin Westergren; Nils Gottfries; Daria Finocchiaro; Stefan Pitschner; Mirko Wiederholt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Inflation expectations; Rational inattention; Frequency of purchase; Consumers; Monetary policy; Instrumental Variables; Event studies; Entrepreneurs; Wealth inequality; Dual taxation; Tax reform; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of three self-contained essays.Essay I: Why do consumers’ expenditure patterns matter for their inflation expectations? I propose a model of rational inattention where a consumer trades off paying attention between goods bought more or less frequently. READ MORE

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the role of different short-term electricity market design aspects that can facilitate better coordination of resources within the power system. The work also emphasizes on better cross-border integration of the short-term markets to improve the market liquidity, competition, social welfare, and flexibility in the system, which is essential for facilitating the integration of renewable sources. 5. 20. Folding of the Ribosomal protein S6 : The role of sequence connectivity, overlapping foldons, and parallel pathways

    Author : Ellinor Haglund; Mikael Oliveberg; Neil Ferguson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein folding; protein stability; two-state folding; S6; chevron plot; transition state; parallell pathways; foldon; two-channel landscape; protein engineering; H D-exchange; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Abstract : To investigate how protein folding is affected by sequence connectivity five topological variants of the ribosomal protein S6 were constructed through circular permutation.  In these constructs, the chain connectivity (i.e. the order of secondary-structure elements) is changed without changing the native-state topology.
