  1. 1. Aspects of locomotor evolution in the Carnivora (Mammalia)

    Author : Ki Andersson; Lars E. Holmer; Lars Werdelin; Margaret E. Lewis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Morphology; Mammalia; Carnivora; Locomotion; Cranial; Elbow joint; Morphology; Morphometrics; Landmarks; Multivariate statistics; Allometry; Ecomorphology; Dental; Body size; Morfologi; Morphology; cell biology; pathology; Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the shape of the distal humerus trochlea is analysed using landmark-based morphometrics and multivariate methods, with the aim of exploring locomotor evolution in carnivorans. Elbow joint morphology is used together with body size and craniodental morphology to characterize past and present carnivorans. READ MORE

  2. 2. Manufacturing strategy formulation in small and medium-sized enterprises

    Author : Malin E S Löfving; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing strategy; formulation; SMEs; manufacturing strategy process;

    Abstract : Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of any national economy and key drivers for economic growth. To sustain their competitiveness, it is essential that SMEs take advantage of their capabilities and support market requirements. This research encourages an increased focus on work with manufacturing strategies in SMEs. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Aligning Returns Management with the E-commerce Strategy to Increase Effectiveness

    Author : Klas Hjort; Högskolan i Borås; []

    Abstract : The returns management (RM) process has traditionally been seen as a value recovery process, which has resulted in an efficiency focus in the returns flow. This thesis present, the effects on a fashion e-commerce organisation, which is underprioritising or neglecting RM in general and consumer returns specifically. READ MORE

  4. 4. Strategies for modulation of dendritic cell responses

    Author : Annette E. Sköld; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : With increased knowledge in dendritic cell (DC) biology, innate immune receptors and their ligands, and the shaping of adaptive responses, refined approaches to modulate our immune system are today emerging as treatment strategies for chronic infections and severe cancers. At the center of attention stand DCs – the innate immune cells that orchestrate the adaptive immune responses. READ MORE

  5. 5. Methodological studies on non-linear mixed effects model building

    Author : E. Niclas Jonsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacy; FARMACI; PHARMACY; FARMACI; Biopharmaceutics; biofarmaci;

    Abstract : Population analysis of pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) data by the use of non-linear mixed effects modeling offers a number of benefits over traditional methods of analyzing this type of data. These benefits include the possibility to appropriately characterize the typical PK/PD behaviour in the population as well as the associated variability when only a few observations are available for each individual.
