  1. 11. Collaborative project delivery models in infrastructure construction

    Author : Anna af Hällström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : When projects grow into megaprojects, their management becomes more complex due to an increasing number of inter-organisational interfaces within the project organisation. Spurred on by both the growing size of projects but also the adversity and conflict-prone culture characteristic of construction, the infrastructure industry has turned to collaborative project delivery models based on relational governance. 2. 12. An Approach Towards Sustainable Building

    Author : Navid Gohardani; Folke Björk; Kjartan Gudmundsson; Göran Lindahl; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sustainability; Built environment; Sustainable renovation; High-efficient insulation materials; Sweden Green Building Council; Vacuum Insulation Panels VIP ; Decision making; GreenBuilding; Early stage; Stakeholders; A Concept for promotion of sustainable retrofitting and renovation in Early Stages ACES ; Early Stage Primary Energy Estimation Tool ESPEET ;

    Abstract : The motivation for development of energy efficiency and implementation of novel advanced materials applied in buildings can be traced to increasing energy costs in conjunction with an enhanced environmental awareness among people. This doctoral dissertation presents contributions towards sustainable building, where factors such as building technology, energy efficiency in buildings, workers' health issues during construction measures, and certain economic considerations for renovation of buildings have been considered. 3. 13. High-Performance Building Design and Decision-Making Support for Architects in the Early Design Phases

    Author : Juan Ren; Ivo Martinac; Yu Liu; Angela Sasic Kalagasidis; KTH; []
    Keywords : High-performance building HPB ; sustainable performance; design decision making; building environmental assessment BEA tools; architects; design decision elements; sources of inspiration;

    Abstract : Based on the design decision making process from an architect’s point of view, a related literature review, theoretical analyses, and inductive inferences, this thesis proposes a new interpretation of high-performance building (HPB), translates/maps criteria issues related to building environmental assessment (BEA) tools for key design decision making elements, and identifies sources of inspiration for HPB designs. This thesis intends to propose an integrated conceptual model for the design of HPBs to provide direct knowledge-based decision making support to architects in the early design phase. READ MORE

  4. 14. The mediating role of product representations. A study with three dimensional textiles in early phases of innovation

    Author : Siw Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; product representations; co-design; 3D textiles;

    Abstract : Smart textiles are understood as textiles, where new functions are integrated to form a textile system that can react and interact with the environment. These new textile systems place completely new demands on the actors in the development process. READ MORE

  5. 15. Development of a methodology for lessons learned practice : From post-project learning to continuous process-based learning

    Author : Koteshwar Chirumalla; Anja Maier; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Produktinnovation; Product Innovation;

    Abstract : Product development involves a set of complex problem-solving activities. Their effectiveness depends on how well companies share learnings from one problem-solving experience to another. READ MORE
