1. Silurian vertebrates of Gotland (Sweden) and the Baltic Basin
Abstract : During the Silurian, the Swedish island Gotland was positioned close to the equator and covered by a shallow sea called the Baltic Basin. The sedimentary rocks (predominantly carbonates) comprising most of the island today were initially formed in this warm sea, and the relatively complete succession of rocks often contains fossil fragments and scales from early vertebrates, including heterostracans, anaspids, thelodonts, osteostracans, acanthodians, and a stem-osteichthyan. 2. Speciation genomics : A perspective from vertebrate systems
Abstract : Species are vital entities in biology. Species are generally considered to be discrete entities, consisting of a group of (usually interbreeding) individuals that are similar in phenotype and genetic composition, yet differ in significant ways from other species. READ MORE

3. Geology, stratigraphy, and fossil vertebrates of Gotland, Sweden : a review
Abstract : The Silurian limestones of Gotland, Sweden, and their exceptionally well-preserved fossils have attracted the interest of scientists for more than 200 years. The sedimentary rocks represent approximately 10 million years of time, and were deposited in a shallow, equatorial inland sea named the Baltic Basin. READ MORE

4. Evolution and Pharmacology of Neuropeptide Y Receptors, Implications for vertebrate genome duplications
Abstract : The Y receptors comprise a family of evolutionarily related receptors belonging to the superfamily of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCR). Their natural ligands are in mammals neuropeptide Y (NPY), peptide YY (PYY) and pancreatic polypeptide (PP). READ MORE

5. Cloning, Expression, Pharmacological Characterization and Anatomical Distribution of Melanocortin Receptors in an Evolutionary Perspective
Abstract : The melanocortin (MC) receptors are G-protein coupled receptors thatparticipate in several important physiological functions such as the regulation of the energy balance. This thesis focuses on the evolutionary aspect of the MC receptors and their pharmacology. One MC4 receptor and two MC5 receptor subtypes were found in a teleost fish, zebrafish. READ MORE
