  1. 1. Early life environmental exposures and children's growth : A longitudinal study evaluating prenatal exposure for endocrine disrupting chemicals and nutrition in relation to children's growth up to seven years of age

    Author : Katherine Svensson; Carl-Gustaf Bornehag; Sverre Wikström; Chris Gennings; Alicja Wolk; Marie Löf; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endocrine disrupting chemicals; EDC; Nutrition; Pregnancy; Children; Growth; Birthweight; Body composition; Body Fat; BMI; Overweight; Public Health Science; Folkhälsovetenskap;

    Abstract : Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have the potential to disrupt the endocrine system in humans and animals with importance for health and development. Additionally, optimal nutrition during pregnancy is critical for fetal growth and pregnancy outcomes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Aquatic organisms on the pill - effects on different organizational levels

    Author : Per Hallgren; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; EDC; EE2; 17α-ethinylestradiol; fish; zooplankton; gastropods; population growth rates; direct and indirect effects; somatic growth; invertebrates;

    Abstract : Communities are composed of organisms that interact with each other and with the non-biological environment. There are also anthropogenic pollutants in the environment that also interact with the organisms. READ MORE

  3. 3. Inconsistencies and missing links in EU chemicals legislation

    Author : Diana Kättström; Marlene Ågerstrand; Steffen Foss Hansen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; REACH; Cosmetic Products Regulation; Biocidal Products Regulation; CLP; new hazard classes; PBT vPvB; EDC; PMT vPvM; endocrine disruptor; Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability; Environmental Sciences; miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : The EU chemicals legislation consists of the Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and the Regulation on Classification, Labelling, and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP), complemented by over fifty regulations and directives regulating specific uses and products. While regulating individual uses may offer a faster and simpler approach to protecting human health and the environment from hazardous chemicals, it can also lead to inconsistencies, such as gaps and overlaps. 4. 4. Effects of mixtures of endocrine disrupting chemicals – Thyroid disruption and behavioural effects in fish models

    Author : Lina Birgersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; endocrine disrupting chemicals; ecotoxicology; zebrafish; perch; locomotion; behaviour; thyroid disruption; EDC mixtures;

    Abstract : Wildlife and humans are continuously exposed to thousands of man-made compounds, including chemicals that are able to act as endocrine disruptors (EDCs). These pollutants are able to affect vital processes including brain development, reproduction, metabolism and growth. READ MORE

  5. 5. Chemical Derivatization in Combination with Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry for Detection and Structural Investigation of Glucuronides

    Author : Matilda Lampinen Salomonsson; Mikael Hedeland; Ulf Bondesson; Calle Nilsson; Uppsala universitet; []
